Professor Dame Jean Thomas is a distinguished biochemist and Professor Emeritus of Macromolecular Biochemistry. Until September 2016 she was Master of St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge and until May 2018 President of the Royal Society of Biology. She has extensive experience on a wide range of boards and advisory committees in her academic field and beyond, including Research Councils, and as a Governor of the Wellcome Trust, Trustee of the British Museum, Biological Secretary and Vice-President of the Royal Society, and now Trustee of the Wolfson Foundation.
