Additional information
We are consulting on draft regulations that will:
- replace existing regulations which ban smoking in certain premises and in private vehicles carrying persons under 18
- set the conditions for designating areas for smoking within smoke-free hospital grounds and grounds of schools that provide accommodation for pupils
- place a time limit on the exemption that permits designating rooms in which smoking is permitted in mental health institutions
- place a time limit on the exemption that permits designating rooms in which smoking is permitted in hotels, guesthouses, inns and members’ clubs.
