Talk about organ donation

Talk about your organ donation decision - or someone else may speak for you

When you die, any confusion concerning your organ donation decision can slow down the opportunity to donate your organs, and in some cases cause your decision to be overridden.

Make a decision and then tell your family

  • If your decision is to opt in and become a donor
Tell your family you want to be a donor so they can always support it.

  • If your decision is to opt out and not become a donor
Tell your family you do not want to donate.

  • If your decision is to do nothing, you will be treated as having no objection to being a donor and your consent will be deemed.
Tell your family you want to be a donor so they can always support it.

Every year people miss out on having a life saving transplant as some families override their relative’s decision to be a donor.

Whatever you do make sure your decision is known, so talk about organ donation, or someone else may speak for you.
