The Wales Act 2014 paves the way for new tax powers to come to Wales, further strengthening our ability to manage our own financial affairs.
Consultation description
This will allow us to replace established UK taxes with our own distinctively Welsh taxes.
This consultation sets out our proposals for a Land Transaction Tax to replace Stamp Duty Land Tax in Wales from April 2018. This consultation covers:
- residential transactions
- non-residential transactions
- companies trusts and partnerships
- leases
- reliefs and exemptions
- compliance avoidance disputes and penalties.
